Transition Aged Youth Programs

Pre-Employment Transition Services

Self-Advocacy, Job Exploration, Workplace Readiness, Work-based Learning, and Post Secondary Counseling lessons taught during the school day at the student’s high school to prepare the student for life after graduation.

After school or virtual sessions are also available based on need.

Services available Monday – Friday.

Hours are typically during the school day.

Summer Youth Work Experience

Paid summer work experiences for Transition-Age Youth at a variety of local businesses. This supported experience provides the opportunity for the student to learn hard and soft skills while on the job.

Services available Monday – Thursday.

Hours are typically from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Adult Programs

Career Services

1:1 services designed to assist job seekers in preparing for, attaining, and retaining competitive community employment.

Services available Monday – Friday.

Hours are typically from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Additional support outside of business hours is available as needed.

PACE

Small group paid work training opportunities, at or above minimum wage, at local businesses as well as classroom style learning addressing soft skills, resume writing, interview skills, and more.

Paid and volunteer work training sites available.

Services available Monday – Friday.

Hours are typically from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

PIECE (The Ohio State University)

The PIECE program provides job seekers with disabilities the opportunity to take an employment readiness course at The Ohio State University, taught by Ohio State Ph.D. students. These students administer interest inventories and assessments to help job seekers identify meaningful career paths. Additionally, on-the-job training opportunities are available to develop hard skills, with many worksites located on The Ohio State University campus. Participants receive direct instruction to build the skills needed to succeed and secure meaningful employment in their communities.

Services available during The Ohio State University fall and spring semester.

Hours are typically from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm.

Project SEARCH at DHL

6 month paid internship learning hard and soft skills at a logistics partner to prepare for a job in the industry or at the community business of your choice.

Services available Monday – Friday.

Hours are typically from 7:00 am – 2:30 pm.

Group Employment

On-Site Locations

Group Employment Services provide paid opportunities, at or above minimum wage, for individuals to participate in mobile work crews or enclaves at a variety of partnering businesses within our community. Along with building stamina, individuals learn and develop work skills so that they can be successful as they continue along their path to employment. ARC staff members are assigned to each location to support individuals on this journey.

Services available varies based on 1st & 2nd Shift.

Transportation

Participants are able to choose their method and provider of transportation attending ARC programs. At ARC we offer optional transportation services to assist individuals with getting to and from our program services and activities, which at times may be more convenient than other transportation options.
